When you choose to purchase an item and add it to the Shopping Cart, all information from that point on is encrypted to ensure that your credit card and personal information are secure.
Jocelyn Jewellery accepts Visa and Mastercard. We do not accept cheques or money orders.
All prices are shown in Canadian dollars.
Canadian customers will be required to pay sales tax; the percentage amount will depend on province of residence.
Inventory Level & Back Orders
Our website offers sizes, styles, and designs based on inventory currently in stock. Items that are of limited edition will show the actual availability (number in stock). Most items available for purchase online will be in stock. However, due to fluctuations in Internet sales, certain items may not be immediately available. If your order contains an item that is on back-order, your order will not ship until the item is in stock. The amount of time for out-of-stock products to be replenished is usually 2 – 3 days, but it may take longer depending on whether the components are in stock. You will receive an email if there will be lengthy delay in fulfilling your order.
Shipping and Handling
Most orders ship within 2-4 business days from the time the order is placed. Please note that transit times listed below for the shipping method you select do not include order processing time. You will receive an email verifying that an order has been received and a second email when the order has shipped.
At the present time, Jocelyn Jewellery only ships to the following countries: Canada, the UK & Ireland, and the United States.
Canada: 1) Flat rate standard shipping via Canada Post (no tracking, no insurance) to anywhere in Canada is $5.00. This usually takes 5 - 10 business days*. 2) Flat rate expedited parcel to anywhere in Canada (includes tracking and $100 insurance) is $10.00 via Canada Post. This usually takes 3 - 8 business days*. For expedited parcels we use a third-party company that has negotiated great rates with Canada Post. Parcels are delivered to this company twice per week (Mondays and Thursdays).
*While Canada Post does give guaranteed times for delivery of expedited mail in Canada, those times are based on shipments between major urban sorting facilities. Because we cannot ship from a major centre and customers are not necessarily located in urban centres, the delivery times specified by Canada Post have been expanded in order to give more realistic estimates.
United States: 1) Flat rate shipping via USPS First Class mail is $6.00. 2) Flat rate USPS priority mail with tracking to anywhere in the US (includes $50 insurance) is $10.00. Twice per week (Mondays and Thursdays) parcels for the US are delivered to a third party shipper which transports them to a USPS facility in New York state by 8:00 am Eastern the following day. Estimated delivery time to the customer from that point is 2-3 business days.
Note: While US Customs generally allows parcels with a retail value under $200USD to go through without the imposition of duties or fees, there is no guarantee that this will always be the case. Parcels with a value in excess of $200USD are likely to be inspected at US Customs and may be subject to duties and other fees. See http://www.cbp.gov/trade/basic-import-export/internet-purchases
United Kingdom & Ireland: In order to keep shipping costs low, we use a third-party company and deliver parcels to this company twice per week (Mondays and Thursdays). 1) Flat rate standard shipping (no tracking, no insurance) is $10. 2) Flat rate with tracking and $70 insurance is $20.00. These shipping costs are based on a weight up to 1kg (most parcels shipped by Jocelyn Jewellery weigh about 500g). If the parcel weighs more than 1kg, you will receive an email with a revised shipping cost. Delivery is usually within 10 – 15 business days.
Important Notes for Shipments to All Destinations:
1) Shipments to countries outside of Canada may be subject to customs duties and charges. These are assessed when the parcel reaches the other country and must be paid by the customer upon delivery. Be advised that the customs label affixed to the parcel will clearly specify the contents and value.
2) As the standard shipping methods noted above to all destinations, excluding the US, do not include tracking and insurance, Jocelyn Jewellery is not responsible for such orders once delivered to the post office.
3) Shipping fees quoted above include postage and handling (e.g., cost of packaging, delivery to post office etc.).
4) Delivery times listed above are estimates and are not guaranteed.
If Jewellery is Unsuitable: While we try to make the descriptions and photos of every jewellery item as clear and complete as possible, we realize that sometimes customers are disappointed when they receive their jewellery. If you are not happy with your purchase you may return it for a refund in the value of the purchase price (does not include shipping costs or customs charges/taxes levied by your home country). To receive the refund you must send a message within 14 days of receipt using the Contact Us procedure on the Jocelyn Jewellery website to request a Return Authorization (RA) number and packing label. The jewellery should be in original, unworn condition and returned with original packing materials. Shipping costs for the package, which must be insured with delivery confirmation, are the responsibility of the customer. No returns will be accepted without a Return Authorization. Once your return has been received and inspected, you will receive an email indicating that the refund has been applied to your credit card.
Jewellery Received in Damaged Condition: We make every effort to ensure that each piece of jewellery shipped is in excellent condition. If you receive a defective or damaged item or if the piece is different from what you ordered, send a message within 14 days of receipt of the item using the Contact Us procedure on the Jocelyn Jewellery website. Please provide the order number and a description of the damage/defect and we will send you a Return Authorization (RA) number and packing label. No returns will be accepted without a Return Authorization. You will not be charged the shipping costs for the replacement jewellery item and you will be reimbursed on your credit card for the cost of returning the defective item.
If you like a particular design and want a different metal or gemstone, please send a message through the Contact page with your request. We'll let you know as soon as possible if the components are available to meet your needs and if there will be any difference in the price.
If you are interested in having a custom-designed piece of jewellery, please send a message with your request. It may take a few emails back and forth to determine the design that suits you along with an estimate of the time for completion and the cost. 75% of the cost of the item must be paid up front with the remainder due when the item is ready to be shipped.
All sales are final on custom orders.
Because the jewellery is handmade, you can expect variations that would not occur with machine-produced jewellery. Also, the gemstones often have differences in colour and pattern that are completely natural and tend to add to the charm and uniqueness of the jewellery. Probably the most common explanation for any differences you perceive in colour are due to the individual settings on monitors, tablets and phones used to view the site.
We try to use natural semi-precious stones in all our jewellery. It is important to understand that there are many common treatments that have been used for decades or more to enhance gemstones such as heating, irradiation and stabilization. Whenever the stone used has been dyed or treated in any unusual way, that information is provided in the product description.
An internet search is one of the best ways to find out about the various semi-precious gemstones we use. One site that provides excellent photos and just about everything you would ever want to know about gemstones is minerals.net
